Planning a visit to Detroit for a sporting event at Ford Field or Comerica Park? Between the Detroit Tigers playing at Comerica Park all summer long, the Detroit Lions playing across the street at Ford Field this fall, and the NCAA's Final Four coming to Ford Field in April 2009, there's always plenty going on in Detroit's Sports & Entertainment District. For pre- and post-game celebrating, here are some neighboring bars you may want to check out. All serve alcohol until 2 a.m.

Fishbone's

400 Monroe St.

Located in Greektown, Fishbone's serves up great seafood, steak and sushi and features loud, live entertainment. From Ford Field, don't bother with the People Mover because you've got to ride the entire loop to get there. It's easier and faster to walk the few blocks up Brush Street. Staying in the suburbs? Look for locations in Southfield and St. Clair Shores. Call 313-963-3357.

The Anchor Bar

450 W. Fort St.

The Anchor Bar is the nostalgic sports-lovers dream, with decades-old photos of Tigers, Red Wings, Lions and Pistons greats of the past. The food is standard bar fare, but they make a great burger. To get there, take the People Mover to the Fort St./Cass stop and walk two blocks west. Call 313-964-9127.
